Meet Pastor Josiah Black
Pastor Josiah Black first joined Peru First Baptist Church as an Associate Pastor in June 2019. In December 2020, when our Senior Pastor was called to serve elsewhere, we were very blessed when Josiah agreed to serve as our Interim Pastor. The congregation voted overwhelmingly to select him as Senior Pastor in December 2022.
Josiah is a graduate of both Ball State University (BS ’09, MA ’11) and Northern Seminary (MDIV,’17). He formally served in leadership roles at Northern Seminary and Sioux Falls Seminary. He has also served as Assistant Director of the Quest program at Green Lake Conference Center in Green Lake, Wisconsin.
In his free time, Josiah enjoys games of all types, cooking, film, live music, and outdoor activities such as hiking, kayaking, and backpacking.
